This license governs use of the materials published on WorkControl.org, including the Work Control Framework (WCF), Work Control System (WCS), and all associated models, definitions, diagrams, and system logic.
1. Open Use With Attribution
You are free to:
- Use the Work Control Framework (WCF) and its principles in your own thinking, writing, and organizational design.
- Implement WCF concepts or structures in your tools, systems, or workflows.
- Reference or cite the WCF and WCS in presentations, teaching materials, documentation, or digital platforms.
Under the following conditions:
- You must credit Marc Ragsdale as the original author.
- You must link to https://workcontrol.org in any digital or published materials that substantially reuse or build upon the WCF or WCS.
- You may not falsely claim authorship or misrepresent the origin or scope of the framework or system.
2. Commercial Use
Commercial implementations of WCF principles or use of the WCS label are allowed with attribution. You may not:
- Use the “Work Control Framework” or “Work Control System” names as product names, trademarks, or service marks without written permission.
- Represent your product or service as official, certified, or endorsed by WorkControl.org or Marc Ragsdale unless you receive explicit approval.
3. Respect for the Category (WCS)
The term “Work Control System” (WCS) is a defined category and is pending trademark protection. If you use this label to describe your product or platform, it must meaningfully align with the principles outlined in the WCF and follow the structural guidance of the WCS.
4. Preserving the Ecosystem
This license is designed to promote widespread adoption of the Work Control philosophy while protecting the original intent and authorship. Derivative works are encouraged—but must acknowledge their roots.
